The RJ45 Plug’s robust metal housing provides dependable electromagnetic shielding. The FastConnect line also provides tensile strain relief for the IE FC cable on connector in Scalance switch housings.

The high speeds of Gbit Ethernet make cabling more important, so the new connector works with Siemens new Cat6 (4×2, 24 AWG) cables. Eight integrated insulation displacement contacts simplify linkage with the fast connect variants. The units can also help prevent installation mistakes.
