Basic HMI Panel Adds Color

The SIMATIC HMI KTP400 Basic Color PN offers high resolution and improved performance for entry-level operator panels. The Siemens Industry Automation Division brings color to environments that have previously relied on monochromatic displays.

The 256-color panel has 480 x 272 resolution with a 50,000 hour LED backlight. It is designed as a key-touch combination with four function keys plus touch functionality. A second member of the family, the KP400, has eight function keys plus the mobile phone keypad already known from the KP300 Basic mono PN. Tactile function keys and membrane keyboard ensure maximum input accuracy.

Several software functions are standard, including an alarm system, recipe management, trend curve functionality and language switching. The panels can be configured in the Totally Integrated Automation Portal using the WinCC V11 Basic engineering software, which has already been integrated into Step7 Basic, the TIA Portal engineering tool. This versatile setup allows projects created for Basic Panels to be transferred onto devices in different performance classes or with different display sizes.

A 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port makes PROFINET and third party communication possible.
