The system requires No RFID-specific programming, and it automatically delivers data read by the transponder. The point-to-pointIO-Link interface is an economical solution for an easy and openc onnection. Complex programming is no longer necessary and the devices are connected via IO-Link master modules, providing flexibility and compatibility with almost allcurrent bus systems.
The line features very low costs per read point (RFID reader + interface on the master module). Two cylindrically shaped readers, RF210R (M18) and RF220R (M30),fit into very cramped mounting conditions. They’re designed forshort distances up to 18 or 40 mm. A block-shaped reader RF260R features a large sensing range (HF field), operating at distances up to 130 mm.
Though they’re small, they’re fast. The complete 8-byte identificationnumber (UID) is available to the user for further processing 90ms after a transponder enters the reader’s coverage area. The readers all operate in the high-frequency band of 13.56 MHz and support the RFID standard ISO 15693.
These transponders are extremely rugged. As a result, they are suitable for use in harsh industrial environments, where high mechanical stress from shock and vibration, high ambient temperatures and pressures, or chemical exposure to lubricants, paints, alkaline cleaning agents are often the norm.
