Selected INOX Comfort Panels have been upgraded to withstand high pressure washing and other challenging requirements arising in the food and pharmaceutical industry. The touch sensitive HMI devices all meet the IP69K degree of protection, some permit two-finger touches so users can zoom in or out to better view important information.
The upgraded HMI screens are the SIMATIC HMI TP900 Comfort INOX PCT (PCT – Projected Capacitive Touch), the SIMATIC HMI TP1200 Comfort INOX PCT and the SIMATIC IFP2200 INOX MT ETH. The latter model provides Ethernet connectivity.
The range of upgraded Panels and Panel PCs have high breaking strength glass and stainless steel fronts that make them suitable for hygienic areas including those that require DGUV certification. In addition to IP69K protection, they are approved for cleanrooms and hazardous pharmaceutical industry where resistance to disinfectants and compatibility areas is necessary, for example IECEx, ATEX Zone 2/22, UL Class 1, Division 2. Glass is IK08 shatter-proof and scratch-resistant 6 on the Mohs hardness scale. An optimized frame design with minimum overhang allows liquids to run off.
As with other INOX Panels, these devices come with an additional clamping frame to evenly distribute the seal’s contact pressure, even though they have a thin control cabinet wall thickness starting at 1.5 mm. The Comfort Panels can be configured with TIA Portal V15.
